Blue for boys, pink for girl? The cliché often worms its way in to fashion staples...but in 2019, the world of kids' fashion took a bold step towards a gender-neutral trend. It's high time that kids simply wear what they like, without the pressures of fashion noms! In true modern style, Dsquared2 were one of the first brands to weigh in on the movement, with a collection rich in neutral and easy-to-mix items: logoed sweaters and sweatpants, denim or checked shirts emblazoned with their 'Icon' mantra, sheepskin jackets that are just as chic sported by a girl or a boy. Most impactful of all however was the brand's campaign video, shot by famous Italian photographer Giampaolo Sgura, which brought the spotlight to two fabulously androgynous child models in monochrome. Modern cowboy, evening style or a total sporty look...boy or girl? Whichever, we love it!
Now a world-renowned brand, Dsquared2 was born from the passion of founders Dean and Dan Caten. Originally from Toronto, the twin brothers honed their skills in Canada during the 90s before moving to Milan. o launch their fashion house. Their vision? Couture sportswear. Mixing urban influences, their 'Canadian touch' comes together with Italian sophistication and has well and truly won over VIP clientele from around the world, from Madonna to Beyoncé. With their growing success, the duo have turned their hand to childrenswear to perfect an authentic 'cool kids on the block' vibe!
